Lakewood Board of Adjustment Public Hearing

Wednesday December 12, 2007, at 9:00 PM

Lakewood Town Hall

The purpose of the public hearing was to review the request by Wendy Robertson for a variance to build two dwellings on a 20-acre parcel that does not have road frontage.

Present: Chair Steve Geving, Kerry Leider, Ann Cutts, Zoning Administrator Brennan Mears, and Recorder David Gerhart.  Members of the public were in the audience (see attached register).

Geving called the meeting to order following the hearing for the Superior Savings Bank variance.

Mears stated that Robertson’s 20-acre parcel is a lot of record in the FAM-3 zone district.  Robertson described the location of the easement to the 20-acre parcel.  This easement is also described in the document attached to her variance application that is entitled, “Private Driveway Easement.”  The signed and notarized covenant required for such a variance application (specified in Article VI, Section 1 J, page 49, of the Lakewood Zoning Ordinance) is included in the “Private Driveway Easement” document.

It was noted that that there would now be 5 houses and three driveways at the end of Lauren Road.  Leider requested a drawing as an exhibit that showed the location of the various driveways.  Such a drawing was produced but not given to the recorder to enter into the record.

Motion by Cutts, second by Leider, to approve the variance.   Geving stated that a condition of the variance would be that, at no point, will a driveway serve more than two homes or parcels.  Motion carried.

Motion by Leider, second by Cutts, to adjourn.  The motion carried and the hearing was adjourned at 9:50 PM.

Respectfully submitted,

David Gerhart
