Lakewood Board of Supervisors Special Meeting
December 4, 2006
Call to Order: Chair of the Board of Supervisors, Diane Larson, called the Special Meeting of the Lakewood Board of Supervisors to order at 7:03 p.m. on 12-4-06 at the Lakewood Town Hall.
Present: Supervisors Diane Larson and Tim Musick. Supervisor Chuck Campbell was absent. Also Present: Clerk Gene Bromenshenkel and representatives of the Center for Rural Planning - Dave Miller, Terry Frank, and Don McTavish.
Purpose of the Meeting: The purpose of the meeting was outlined: to finalize the details with Center for Rural Planning on facilitating the process of updating the Town's Comprehensive Land Use Plan.
Introductions were made with the Center for Rural Planning staff indicating that Dave Miller will be the lead contact for the process, outlined to be completed over the course of the next calendar year. The CRP staff presented an outline of the various steps in the process with defined timelines and responsibilities. Comprehensive Plan Process/Timeline Table
Discussion on various Processes:

Establishment of a Steering committee - a responsibility of the township. Point of importance to obtain broad based representation on the Committee.

There was discussion about check points to review process, timetable, costs and language for a signed agreement. The agreement will be finalized after this meeting.

CRP staff outlined the roles of the Town Board of Supervisors in providing guidance to the process.

It was agreed that a date for the Open House should be set soon - the Supervisors agreed to do this at the December Board of Supervisors monthly meeting.
After some discussion it was recognized that another meeting this month to finalize the agreement and review some of the roles, was needed. It was agreed by consensus of the Supervisors to meet again with the CRP staff on December 20, 2006 at 7 p.m.
Motion by Musick to adjourn the meeting at 8:21 p.m. Second by Larson. Motion Carried.
