No residents attended the meeting.
Vision Statement (Small Group Work)
Small groups continued their work (input from each group attached).
Report Out
There was not enough time to share each small group’s work with the Committee as a whole. Each group agreed to hand their notes to Dave Miller to summarize for the next meeting. A copy of the Summary is attached.
Discussion
Dave Beran expressed a concern about a potential issue with having the two Town Supervisors continue to be on the Steering Committee. He thought it was timely to re-visit the decision made last spring since the Comprehensive Planning process will be longer then expected and the Town Supervisors are more involved in township issues then they were last spring. The issue would be if a decision on the Comp. Plan came came to the Town Board the two Supervisors would be able to vote on the issue.
Two or three members said they didn’t feel they could freely express their viewpoints because the Supervisors could be influenced one way or the other on issues that have come or could come before the Town Board. Others thought it could be an advantage to have the supervisors remain on the Steering Committee so they better understand the various viewpoints. After further discussion, it was decided that the supervisors should remain as members of the Steering Committee. All members need to be sensitive and open to discuss issues that may cause a conflict of interest and seek ways to resolve within the Steering Committee.
